Kitset roof, wall-attached pergola or roof-only retrofit?
The CADARN product range owns modular aluminium louvre pergola kitsets. Bespoke large-span architectural roofs belong to ARKEN, and generic NZ louvre comparisons belong to the New Zealand guide.
Freestanding kitset
Start with the exact width and projection. Post count, beam and bay rules change across supported configurations. Sizes above 4 × 4 m use the supported multi-post arrangement; do not assume a four-post 6 × 4 m unit.
The wall connection replaces rear posts only where the actual building structure, fixing zone and waterproofing interface are suitable. The purchaser's local professionals confirm these before manufacture.
The supplied louvred roof can be reviewed for a suitable existing supporting frame. Level, squareness, member capacity, fixing faces, drainage and electrical routes must be independently verified.
Product photos are approved CADARN references, not individual size-specific photographs. Freestanding support layouts above are indicative of the approved kitset rules. For wall-attached layouts at 4 × 4 m and above, the supported pathway uses three front posts and no rear posts, subject to building connection review. Final dimensions, bay orientation, site interfaces and support arrangement are confirmed before order.
Standard-size kitset prices are shown individually in NZD, excluding 15% GST. Freight, local installation, optional accessories and non-standard specifications are additional and quoted separately.

Find your CADARN
Three straightforward ways to create your outdoor space.
These are buying pathways built around the same CADARN kitset platform, not separate structural models. Select a starting point and Apollo will confirm the final combination and availability before quotation.
CADARN Essential
Simple architectural outdoor cover with manually operated adjustable louvres, integrated surround LED lighting and a choice of standard CADARN sizes and finishes.
Motorised adjustable louvres with integrated perimeter LED lighting, remote control, Tuya-compatible smart operation and automatic rain-sensor functionality. Frame and louvre colours can be coordinated. Compatible screens and glass are separate options.
Start with a motorised roof and plan compatible retractable screens, privacy walls or sliding glass to create a more sheltered outdoor living area. Enclosures are quoted separately after compatibility review.
Freestanding, wall-attached and roof-only installation pathways are available subject to the selected dimensions and supporting structure. All CADARN supply is kitset supply-only; installation and site works are arranged separately.
CADARN · COMPLETE THE SPACE
More than a roof. Make the whole space yours.
Explore how the roof can work with its own compatible accessories and configurations. Options depend on the selected system and final project requirements.
Control your louvre roof with Tuya-compatible smart technology.
The motorised CADARN roof combines convenient remote operation with a Tuya-compatible smart-control pathway and automatic rain-sensor functionality. Adjust the louvres to suit the moment, from open-air daylight to greater overhead rain protection.
Remote operation
Operate the motorised roof without manually adjusting each blade.
Tuya-compatible smart control
Supported app-based operation is subject to the supplied control module, pairing and site connectivity. Confirm controller and app compatibility for your order.
Automatic rain sensor
The motorised package includes a rain-sensor pathway intended to respond to rainfall. Sensor behaviour and commissioning requirements are confirmed with the final control specification.
Integrated LED perimeter lighting
Extend the use of the outdoor space into the evening. Lighting control functions are confirmed against the selected electrical package.
Tuya-compatible does not itself guarantee any particular third-party assistant, voice platform, automation or remote-access capability. Those depend on the supplied controller, applicable app, network and regional compatibility. Electrical work and commissioning are arranged locally. Manual CADARN roofs do not include motorised or Tuya roof control.

Warranty should reinforce the product specification, not sit hidden in fine print. CADARN combines a lifetime manufacturing-warranty pathway with long-duration powder-coat protection for qualifying standard and coastal installations.
Long-term protection through the CADARN manufacturing-warranty pathway, subject to the applicable written warranty terms and eligibility conditions.
15 Years
Powder-Coat Warranty*
Finish warranty pathway for qualifying standard-environment installations, subject to the specified coating system, installation, care and maintenance requirements.
10 Years
Coastal Powder-Coat Warranty*
Dedicated finish warranty pathway for qualifying coastal installations where the required coastal specification, exposure conditions and maintenance programme are followed.
*Warranty periods describe the current CADARN warranty pathways. Coverage is not an all-component lifetime guarantee. CADARN motors and LED lighting have a 2-year warranty. Controls, sensors, screens, glass, seals, moving parts, accessories and other components may carry separate warranty periods or conditions. Final coverage follows the written warranty schedule applicable to the ordered configuration and destination.
Configure before you quote
Build a preliminary CADARN in under a minute.
Instead of starting with a generic enquiry, define the decisions that actually affect the supplied system. The configurator turns them into one structured quote-preparation brief for Apollo to review.
Start with the project condition — not the accessory list.
CADARN works best when the basic structure is chosen first. Use these pathways to identify the likely starting point, then move into the configurator for the detailed brief.

The core louvre-pergola questions, answered before configuration.
CADARN is Apollo's modular aluminium louvre pergola kitset pathway, with broader outdoor-system pages helping compare it with other roof, shade and enclosure options.
01
What is CADARN?
CADARN is Apollo NZ Global's aluminium louvre pergola kitset system for residential and selected commercial outdoor spaces, with manual or motorised adjustable louvres, integrated surround LED lighting, concealed drainage and freestanding, wall-mounted or roof-only configuration pathways.
02
What is the maximum CADARN size?
The largest CADARN format is 6 × 4 m / 24 m². CADARN is not offered above that footprint. Larger-span or more complex architectural louvre projects should be reviewed under ARKEN.
03
Can CADARN be made to measure?
Yes, within controlled limits. CADARN is still a kitset system, but selected project-specific dimensions can be reviewed inside the 6 × 4 m / 24 m² maximum envelope. 3.0 m aluminium posts are also available where extra clearance or site-level flexibility is required, with the posts supplied full length for site cutting.
04
Can CADARN use mixed colours?
Yes. Black, White and Grey are the standard colours, and the frame and roof louvres can be selected independently. Matching and mixed combinations such as Black frame / White louvres are available. Flaxpod Matt is a custom powder-coat colour at additional cost.
05
Where is the motor on a motorised CADARN roof?
The motor is top-mounted on the roof system; it is not represented as concealed inside the beam. Motorised systems also include the current remote, smart-control and rain-sensor pathway described on this page.
06
What should be provided for a CADARN quote?
Provide overall width and projection, finished-height intent, freestanding or attached configuration, site and supporting-condition information, exposure, drainage route, motorisation choice, enclosure or outdoor-kitchen requirements, destination and target timing. Apollo prepares pricing manually after project review.

Outdoor comfort, controlled
One roof. More control over the way the space works.
CADARN is designed around practical control of sun, airflow, rain and evening use — then extended with enclosure and outdoor-room options where the project calls for them.
Control the sun
Rotate the aluminium louvres to increase daylight, reduce direct sun or create useful shade.
Encourage airflow
Open or angle the blades to promote natural ventilation through the outdoor space.
Manage the rain
Closed blades direct roof water into integrated guttering and internal drainage pathways.
Use it after dark
Integrated surround LED lighting creates a cleaner evening-use pathway without relying on added spotlights.
Configure the structure
Choose freestanding, wall-mounted or roof-only formats within the CADARN 6 × 4 m maximum footprint.
Build the whole outdoor room
Plan blinds, glass, louvre walls, solid walls, daylight sections and outdoor-kitchen interfaces from the start.
Roof operation
Open. Angle. Close.
The adjustable roof changes the balance between daylight, shade, ventilation and overhead rain protection.
Current CADARN frame + louvre reference. The roof blades rotate between open, angled and closed positions; final detailing follows the ordered configuration.
01
Open
Bring more daylight into the space and encourage vertical airflow.
02
Angled
Reduce direct sunlight while retaining natural ventilation.
03
Closed
Create an overlapping roof surface that channels rainwater into the integrated drainage system.
CADARN is an outdoor structure, not a sealed indoor room. Wind-driven rain can still enter through open sides and exposed interfaces.
Choose the operating system
Manual or motorised?
Both configurations use adjustable aluminium louvres and include integrated surround LED lighting. The difference is how the roof is operated and the level of control included.
Manual
Simpler mechanical control.
Hand-operated louvre adjustment
Integrated LED lighting included
No power required for the roof mechanism
Well suited to compact or occasionally adjusted spaces
Lower control complexity
Integrated LED lighting still requires electrical connection.
Motorised
Remote, app and rain response.
Electric roof operation
Remote control included
Tuya-compatible smart control
Automatic rain sensor included
Well suited to frequently used and larger entertaining spaces
The motor is housed on top of the roof system. The rain sensor is a convenience feature, not a substitute for outdoor-rated furniture and electronics.

Review under ARKEN.
Before manufacture
What we need for each mounting pathway.
The CADARN kitset changes depending on what is supporting it. Confirming the structure, levels, fixing zones, drainage and electrical route before manufacture is far easier than trying to solve those interfaces on site.
01 · Freestanding
Start with the ground and post positions.
For a freestanding CADARN, the site team needs to establish where the posts will land and what will support them.
Overall width, projection and finished roof height
Post positions and clearances
Concrete slab, footing or deck-support condition
Anchor / fixing zones and finished floor levels
Drainage discharge route from the relevant posts
Electrical route for motorised operation and LED lighting where selected
Safe unloading and assembly access
02 · Wall-mounted
The building connection must be known before the kit is frozen.
A wall-mounted CADARN should connect to a suitable structural fixing zone — not simply to cladding or a decorative surface.
Accurate wall-to-front projection and overall width
Finished wall-fixing height and required fall / level relationship
Wall construction and structural fixing zone
Cladding, cavity, soffit, fascia and gutter conditions where relevant
Project-specific flashing, sealing and building-envelope detail
Drainage discharge route and downpipe coordination
Local structural review / approvals where required
03 · Roof-only retrofit
Measure and verify the existing frame first.
CADARN roof-only can be reviewed for a suitable existing timber, steel or aluminium support structure. The existing frame remains a project condition and needs to be verified before the roof is manufactured.
Clear internal opening dimensions at multiple points
Existing beam / support spacing and member sizes
Frame level, squareness and straightness
Structural capacity for roof, wind and fixing loads
Available fixing faces and interference points
Drainage path, gutter interface and discharge location
Electrical route for motorised operation / LED lighting where selected
Useful information to send Apollo
Photos + dimensions make the first review much faster.
For wall-mounted and roof-only projects, send overall dimensions, finished heights, several clear photos of the proposed fixing / support areas, close-ups of the wall or existing frame, site exposure, destination and any known structural information. For retrofits, measure the opening at more than one point rather than assuming the existing frame is perfectly square.
Not sure which pathway fits?
The configurator now records freestanding, wall-mounted and roof-only requirements and flags missing site information before quote review.
Keep the architectural language. Change what the system does.
The CADARN family includes the standard rotating-louvre kitset, APERTA retractable aluminium roof, fixed polycarbonate cover and open-frame pathways.
CADARN APERTA
Retract the roof. Open the sky.
Motorised retractable aluminium roof in standalone / freestanding, wall-mounted and roof-only configurations. Start with seven simple standard sizes or use made-to-measure sizing where required.
Fixed 5 mm coloured polycarbonate roofing on the CADARN aluminium frame for patios, decks, pools and outdoor living where the roof does not need to open.
CADARN kitset louvre pergola sizes — nine standard footprints with controlled flexibility.
Start with the standard size that best fits the space. Selected project-specific dimensions can be reviewed within the 6 × 4 m / 24 m² maximum envelope. CADARN remains a kitset pathway rather than a fully bespoke architectural system.
CADARN size + height limitsLargest footprint: 6 × 4 m / 24 m² · approx. 2.5 m standard finished height. Optional 3.0 m aluminium posts can be supplied full length and cut on site to suit the required height. For larger spans or fully bespoke architectural layouts, use the ARKEN pathway.
Visual size guide
Picture the footprint before choosing the size.
These simplified plan-view guides are not engineering drawings. They show how the most common CADARN sizes relate to typical outdoor uses and the locked single- / double-bay rule.
3 × 3 mSingle bay
Compact dining, small deck or courtyard.
4 × 3 mSingle bay
Dining plus circulation or a compact lounge zone.
4 × 4 mDouble bay
Outdoor room with lounge or dining flexibility.
6 × 4 mDouble bay · maximum CADARN format
Large entertaining, poolside or repeat development application.
Locked CADARN bay rule: sizes up to and including 4 × 3 m are single-bay. Sizes 4 × 4 m and above are double-bay. For a 4 × 4 m freestanding double-bay format, the standard arrangement uses four corner posts with no centre post. Larger freestanding formats use six posts, with front and rear centre posts. Wall-attached 4 × 4 m and larger formats use three front posts and no rear posts; roof-only configurations have no supplied posts. All layouts remain subject to site-specific review.
Standard + custom colour system
Match it — or mix the frame and louvres.
Black, White and Grey are the standard CADARN colours. The frame and roof louvres can be selected independently, so a Black frame / White louvre roof is a standard configuration pathway rather than a bespoke architectural upgrade. Flaxpod Matt is a custom powder-coat colour at additional cost.

Custom colour option: Flaxpod Matt is a custom powder-coat colour available at additional cost, subject to colour confirmation and production lead time. Final powder-coat appearance can vary with screen settings, lighting and production batch, so confirm the current physical colour reference when colour matching is important to the project.
Design the whole outdoor room
CADARN screens, glass and side enclosures — build the outdoor room from the roof out.
CADARN can stay completely open or become the structural centre of a more sheltered outdoor-living scheme. Plan the sides, cooking, privacy and services early so the finished space works as one coordinated system.
Open
Keep CADARN open-sided and use the adjustable roof alone for shade, airflow and overhead rain management.
Shade
Add CADARN retractable screens to selected bays for low-angle sun, privacy and greater side protection.
Glass
Use compatible sliding-glass modules where transparent shelter is wanted while retaining views and daylight.
Privacy
Choose fixed or adjustable aluminium louvre walls, decorative panels or selected solid side conditions to shape privacy and exposure.
Cook
Coordinate an outdoor kitchen, BBQ, pizza oven, fireplace or flue location before manufacture so clearances and roof interfaces are resolved early.
Complete
Combine roof, screens or glass, lighting, privacy and selected services into one coordinated outdoor-room brief rather than adding components after installation.
CADARN guided retractable screen. A more substantial aluminium cassette-and-guideway screen is available for nominal 3 m and 4 m bays with either manual or motorised control. The current screen uses 30% polyester / 70% PVC fabric, a Ø62 mm aluminium roller, 105 × 100 mm cassette, 45 × 40 mm guideways and 26 × 54 mm lower beam. Final screen width, drop, fixing position and compatibility are confirmed against the selected CADARN bay before manufacture.
CADARN manual crank screen. A lighter manual-only screen pathway is available for nominal 3.0 m, 3.6 m and 4.0 m openings. Supplier-listed module sizes are 2706 × 2375 mm, 3326 × 2375 mm and 3698 × 2375 mm respectively. The assembly uses 30% polyester / 70% PVC fabric, a Ø60 × 1.0 mm aluminium roller, 83 × 83 × 1.5 mm cassette, 26 × 53 × 1.5 mm lower beam, powder-coated frame, crank handle and wire-rope guide. Final opening and fixing conditions remain project-specific.
CADARN fixed aluminium louvre wall. A fixed horizontal-louvre wall is available for nominal 3.0 m, 3.6 m and 4.0 m bays. Supplier-listed wall modules are approximately 2700 × 2375 mm, 3300 × 2375 mm and 3700 × 2375 mm. The assembly uses 18 aluminium louvres at 68.5 × 10 × 1.0 mm, 60 × 25 × 1.5 mm side and centre posts, 58 × 25 × 1.8 mm top and bottom beams, an upper slat and bottom brackets. The quoted system shows a 6 mm ground gap. Final post spacing, fixing, floor level and compatibility must be confirmed against the selected CADARN structure.
CADARN adjustable aluminium louvre wall. A separate side-wall pathway uses operable horizontal aluminium louvres that can be opened, angled and closed. A nominal 3.0 m full wall uses three individual panels at approximately 900 × 2375 mm each; a nominal 4.0 m full wall uses three individual panels at approximately 1230 × 2375 mm each. Each panel uses 24 aluminium louvres. Two current louvre-profile pathways are listed at 68.5 × 10 × 1.0 mm and 76 × 14 × 0.9 mm. Side posts are 60 × 25 × 1.5 mm, with aluminium side covers, top/bottom framing, bottom brackets and a 6 mm ground gap. Final operating hardware, blade profile, panel spacing, fixing and compatibility are confirmed for the selected CADARN configuration before manufacture.
CADARN decorative privacy panels. Selected laser-cut aluminium screens can be added to compatible CADARN systems as feature side panels, privacy screens or partial enclosure elements. These are architectural screen options rather than weather-sealed walls. Final pattern, panel count, orientation, fixing points and integration with posts, blinds, glass, drainage and lighting should be coordinated before manufacture.
CADARN sliding glass wall modules. The current enclosure pathway uses 8 mm tempered glass in an aluminium sliding frame. The nominal 3 m bay module is approximately 2700 × 2375 mm; the nominal 4 m bay module is approximately 3700 × 2375 mm. These dimensions describe the supplied wall module rather than the overall pergola footprint. Final clear opening, track position, post spacing, floor level, fixing substrate, drainage interfaces and compatibility must be confirmed against the selected CADARN configuration before manufacture. Larger or combined glazed openings require project review.
Accessory integration matters. CADARN blind tracks, guttering and lighting routes share the beam/column zone, so blind and enclosure fixing positions should be coordinated before drilling or final manufacture. Drainage discharge points and the columns carrying those outlets should also be nominated before installation.
Project planning tool
Know the rough size and configuration?
Capture dimensions, mounting type, operation, colour, exposure and future enclosure intent before Apollo reviews the project.
CADARN does not have to be configured as one continuous louvre roof. Selected projects can combine different roof and open-frame sections within the same overall structure, allowing each part of the outdoor space to perform differently.
A project can incorporate louvre roof bays, frame-only sections, polycarbonate roof sections and coordinated screens or blinds, creating a more flexible outdoor-living system without forcing every bay to use the same treatment.
Louvre roof sections
Adjustable shade, ventilation and overhead rain management.
Frame-only sections
Open architectural bays for planting, circulation, outdoor kitchens, feature areas or future additions.
Polycarbonate roof sections
Daylight-cover areas where permanent weather protection is preferred.
Mixed roof layouts
Combine louvres, polycarbonate and open framing across adjoining bays.
Screens + blinds
Add privacy, shade and greater side protection only where the project needs it.
Different-use zones
Dining, lounging, outdoor kitchens, spa areas and poolside spaces can each be configured differently.
Plan by use, not by one roof type
A more architectural way to plan the outdoor room.
The advantage is not simply having more options. It is being able to match each section of the structure to how that part of the space will actually be used. A project could use a motorised louvre roof above the dining area, a clear polycarbonate section over an outdoor kitchen, an open frame above a planted courtyard, and retractable screens around the lounge zone.
Project-specific configuration: mixed layouts are reviewed individually inside the CADARN 6 × 4 m / 24 m² maximum envelope. Bay dimensions, post locations, drainage, roof interfaces, structural requirements and accessory compatibility are confirmed before manufacture. CADARN remains a supply-only system; local foundations, installation, electrical connections, drainage connections, engineering and approvals remain project responsibilities unless specifically included.
Mixed configuration project?
Build the brief around each bay.
Tell us which sections need louvres, polycarbonate, open framing, screens or other enclosure options and we can review the configuration before manufacture.
Plan comfort systems before the structure is finished.
Selected CADARN projects can be coordinated with outdoor heating as part of the wider outdoor-room brief. The current heater reference is IP65 weather rated for outdoor use, but the final heater model and electrical specification are still project-specific.
Confirm heater model and wattage before quotation
Confirm voltage, controls and electrical supply requirements
Coordinate mounting position with beams, screens, blinds, lighting and drainage
Confirm manufacturer mounting clearances from people, fabrics, glazing and other materials
Confirm final heater warranty and destination suitability
This is an accessory-planning pathway, not a claim that one heater specification suits every CADARN installation. Electrical work and final connection remain local project responsibilities unless expressly included.

CADARN coastal specification — a stronger fixing pathway for higher-corrosion environments.
CADARN uses 304 stainless steel as the standard fixing pathway. For appropriate coastal, poolside, humid and other higher-corrosion projects, the system can be specified with an optional 316 stainless steel fixing upgrade in the applicable exposed fixing locations.
316 stainless steel contains molybdenum, giving it greater resistance to chloride-related corrosion than 304 stainless steel. That makes it a useful upgrade where salt air, sea spray or other corrosive exposure is a material part of the project brief.
Coastal + marine-influenced
A stronger fixing specification for suitable projects exposed to salt-laden air or marine conditions.
Pacific + tropical
Relevant to suitable Fiji, Pacific Island, resort and high-humidity projects where exposure needs to be considered early.
Poolside environments
Useful where chlorides, humidity and regular wetting increase the corrosion demand on exposed hardware.
Middle East coastal
A project pathway for suitable GCC and Middle East coastal locations where heat, salt, dust and cleaning regimes need coordinated review.
Standard pathway304 stainless steel
Suitable for normal inland exterior applications subject to the final project environment and maintenance.
Optional upgrade316 stainless steel
Preferred fixing upgrade for appropriate coastal, poolside, humid and higher-corrosion environments.
Severe exposureProject-specific review
Very severe marine, industrial or unusual exposure conditions should be reviewed before the fixing and finish specification is frozen.
316 is corrosion resistant — not maintenance free.
Salt deposits and airborne contaminants can still cause tea staining or surface corrosion. Coastal installations should be fresh-water washed, kept free of salt build-up and inspected at intervals appropriate to the actual exposure.

Ask for the CADARN 316 stainless fixing specification.
Tell us the project location and exposure so the fixing, powder-coat and maintenance pathway can be reviewed before manufacture.
Specification boundary: the 316 upgrade refers to the applicable CADARN stainless fixing pathway. It should not be read as a claim that every component, bracket, pin, accessory or internal item in every CADARN configuration is manufactured from 316 stainless steel. Final component specification is confirmed for the ordered system.
Outdoor durability
Built for demanding exposure — with a defined coastal warranty pathway.
CADARN combines powder-coated 6063-T5 aluminium with stainless-steel hardware. Qualifying standard-environment installations have a 15-year powder-coat warranty pathway, while qualifying coastal installations have a dedicated 10-year coastal powder-coat warranty pathway. Final eligibility depends on the specified system, actual exposure, installation, cleaning and maintenance.

Developers + builders · international
CADARN for developers, builders and repeat international programmes.
CADARN is particularly useful where a developer, builder, resort group or local project partner wants a controlled family of aluminium louvre pergolas rather than redesigning every outdoor space from zero. The product stays modular; the site, exposure, freight and local installation pathway are reviewed per project.
Fiji · Pacific Islands
Villas, resorts, residential developments and builder-led outdoor living.
For suitable Fiji projects, CADARN can be structured around a small repeatable range of freestanding or wall-mounted pergolas for villas, poolside terraces, hospitality spaces and residential developments. Standard colours, manual or motorised operation, selected screens and controlled accessory packages can be repeated across a programme.
Repeatable footprints up to 6 × 4 m / 24 m²
Coastal finish and stainless-fixing review
Tropical rainfall and drainage planning
Project-specific wind / cyclone criteria — no blanket cyclone claim
Freight, unloading and island logistics confirmed before release
Local foundations, installation, electrical work and approvals remain local
Villa communities, resorts, hospitality terraces and residential programmes.
CADARN can provide a repeatable modular option for suitable Middle East and GCC projects where the brief calls for controlled residential-scale louvre pergolas rather than a bespoke large-span architectural system. Programme sizes, colours, operation and accessories can be standardised while site interfaces are checked locally.
Suitable for repeat villa, townhouse, clubhouse and hospitality zones
Heat, UV, dust and surface-temperature considerations reviewed by project
Coastal exposure reviewed separately where relevant
Motor, controls, power and drainage coordinated before manufacture
Local contractor handles foundations, installation and statutory requirements
Larger-span or more bespoke developments move to ARKEN
For developers and buildersFreeze a small family of approved sizes, finishes, operation types and enclosure options, then repeat them across qualifying sites with project-specific checks for support, exposure, drainage and local works.
Know what Apollo supplies — and what stays with the site team.
The final packing list follows the ordered configuration, but the split below makes the supply-only boundary clear before quotation.
CADARN kitset supply can include
Aluminium posts, beams, gutters and brackets appropriate to the ordered support pathway
Manual or motorised louvre roof components
Selected polycarbonate roof-section components or frame-only zones where included in the approved configuration
Integrated surround LED lighting
Selected control system and remote
Standard hardware and fixings
Assembly and care information
Selected accessories where ordered
Works typically arranged separately
Foundations or structural strengthening
Electrical supply and final connection
Final drainage connection
Wall flashing and sealing
Delivery unloading and lifting equipment
On-site assembly
Project-specific engineering, approvals or consenting
Mounting affects the packing list: a freestanding system includes its supporting post pathway; a wall-mounted system uses a project-specific building connection; a roof-only retrofit is supplied around the confirmed existing support frame. The quotation and final packing list define exactly what is included for the selected pathway.
Is CADARN the right system?
A good project fit is more important than forcing the product.
CADARN has a clear role: a configurable aluminium kitset with controlled flexibility. Where the brief moves beyond that role, Apollo should move the project into a different system rather than overstate CADARN.
CADARN is a strong fit when
You want a supply-only aluminium kitset.
The required footprint sits within 6 × 4 m / 24 m².
Repeatability and controlled options matter.
Standard or limited made-to-measure dimensions are suitable.
Freestanding, wall-mounted or roof-only formats solve the site.
You want screens, glass, louvre walls or mixed colours within a defined system.
Move beyond CADARN when
You need very large unsupported spans.
You need reduced-column or highly bespoke structural layouts.
The roof geometry is complex or non-standard.
Project-specific architectural fabrication is central to the brief.
Formal manufacturer CAD / BIM / shop-drawing deliverables are mandatory.
The project sits outside the CADARN size and structural envelope.
For a faster review, provide the destination country, project type, approximate quantity, preferred size, mounting type, colour, operation, enclosure intent, exposure, target timing and site photos or drawings where available.
The supplied kitset is assembled in a logical sequence. Exact fixing, electrical, drainage and site requirements still depend on the final project.
01
Set out + posts
Confirm the footprint, levels, diagonals and structural fixing points before anchoring the supporting posts.
02
Assemble the frame
Connect the beams and supporting frame square and level, with the required drainage orientation established.
03
Install the louvre blades
Fit and align the adjustable blades so the roof operates consistently across the complete opening.
04
Motor + controls
On motorised systems, install the top-mounted motor, control components, sensor and required electrical connections.
05
Accessories + commissioning
Fit selected blinds, glass or wall elements, then cycle the roof, check drainage and confirm final operation.
CADARN FAQ
The questions to answer before the project is frozen.
Is CADARN supplied as a kitset?
Yes. CADARN is supplied as a precision-manufactured aluminium kitset intended for on-site assembly.
Is CADARN waterproof?
When closed, the overlapping roof manages overhead rain and directs water into the integrated drainage system. It remains an outdoor structure, so wind-driven rain can still enter through open sides or surrounding interfaces.
Can CADARN attach to my house?
Yes. Wall-mounted configurations are available where there is a suitable structural wall or framing zone. Before manufacture, confirm the fixing position and finished height, wall construction, relevant cladding / cavity / soffit / fascia conditions, drainage discharge and the project-specific flashing and sealing detail. CADARN should not be fixed only to decorative cladding.
Can CADARN go over an existing deck?
Potentially. Deck framing, foundations and wind-uplift resistance need to be suitable for the completed structure.
Can it retrofit into an existing pergola?
Potentially. A roof-only retrofit can be reviewed for a suitable existing timber, steel or aluminium frame. The opening should be measured at multiple points and the existing support spacing, member sizes, level, squareness, fixing faces and structural capacity for the completed roof, wind and fixing loads must be confirmed before manufacture.
Can CADARN combine louvre, polycarbonate and frame-only roof sections?
Yes. Selected CADARN projects can combine louvre roof, polycarbonate roof and frame-only zones within the same overall CADARN 6 × 4 m / 24 m² envelope. Bay dimensions, post positions, drainage and roof interfaces are reviewed before manufacture. Larger linked structures move to ARKEN.
Can outdoor heating be coordinated with CADARN?
Yes, selected projects can be reviewed with an outdoor-heating pathway. The current reference heater is IP65 weather rated for outdoor use. Final heater model, wattage, voltage, controls, mounting position, clearances, electrical design and warranty must be confirmed before the accessory is quoted or specified.
Can I add screens, blinds or glass later?
Many enclosure options can be added later, subject to compatibility. Planning them from the beginning generally produces the best structural and visual result.
What side-screen options are available?
CADARN has two current retractable-screen pathways: a guided aluminium-cassette screen available with manual or motorised control for nominal 3 m and 4 m bays, and a lighter manual crank-operated screen for nominal 3.0 m, 3.6 m and 4.0 m openings. Both current screen families use a 30% polyester / 70% PVC fabric. Final opening dimensions and compatibility are confirmed per project.
Can decorative privacy screens be added?
Yes. Selected laser-cut decorative privacy panels can be integrated with compatible CADARN configurations as side screens, feature panels or partial privacy elements. Final pattern, panel quantity, fixing method, location and compatibility are confirmed against the selected CADARN frame before manufacture.
Is there a fixed aluminium louvre-wall option?
Yes. CADARN has a fixed aluminium louvre-wall pathway for nominal 3.0 m, 3.6 m and 4.0 m bays, using horizontal aluminium louvres within a framed side-wall assembly. Final bay size, post spacing, fixing and ground clearance are confirmed per project.
Can the side louvres open and close?
Yes. CADARN also has an adjustable aluminium louvre-wall pathway where the side louvres can be opened, angled and closed. Current full-wall pathways are for nominal 3.0 m and 4.0 m bays using three framed louvre panels per full wall.
Is it suitable for coastal areas?
Yes. CADARN has a coastal project pathway using powder-coated aluminium and stainless-steel fixings, with appropriate specification, freshwater cleaning and maintenance.
Is smart control included?
Motorised CADARN systems include remote control, Tuya-compatible smart control and automatic rain-sensor functionality.
What is the largest CADARN size?
The largest CADARN format is 6 × 4 m, or 24 m². CADARN is not offered in larger footprints; larger or more complex architectural louvre projects should be reviewed under ARKEN.
Can CADARN be made to measure?
To a limited extent. CADARN remains a kitset system, but selected project-specific dimensions can be reviewed within the 6 × 4 m / 24 m² maximum envelope. It is not a fully bespoke architectural system; larger or more complex layouts should move to ARKEN.
Can CADARN use 3.0 m posts?
Yes. 3.0 m aluminium posts are available for projects needing additional clearance, uneven or sloping-site flexibility, raised slabs or higher finished roof levels. The posts are supplied full length and can be cut on site to the required height, subject to the final project configuration.
Can the frame and louvres be different colours?
Yes. Black, White and Grey are the standard CADARN colours, and the frame and louvres can be selected independently for matching or mixed-colour combinations.
Can CADARN be supplied in Flaxpod Matt?
Yes. Flaxpod Matt is a custom powder-coat colour at additional cost, subject to colour confirmation and production lead time.
Can CADARN work with an outdoor kitchen?
Yes. Selected projects can be planned around outdoor kitchens, BBQs, pizza ovens, fireplaces and flue penetrations when appliance information and clearances are incorporated before manufacture.
Can CADARN be branded for developers or resellers?
Yes. Approved developer, reseller or project-partner logos can be laser-marked into selected CADARN aluminium posts as a custom branding option. Logo artwork, scale, position and project suitability are confirmed before manufacture.
Does CADARN include project-specific CAD, BIM or shop drawings?
No. CADARN is a modular kitset product and is not supplied as a bespoke architectural drawing package. Apollo can provide product information, standard dimensions, technical references and the CADARN Project Pack, while project-specific CAD / BIM, consent drawings, shop drawings, foundations, local engineering and building-interface details remain with the appointed project team. Where formal manufacturer drawing deliverables are mandatory, review ARKEN or another project-manufactured pathway instead.
Can CADARN be supplied for Fiji developments and builder programmes?
Yes. CADARN can be reviewed for Fiji villas, residential developments, resorts, hospitality terraces and builder-led outdoor-living programmes where the project fits the CADARN size and configuration envelope. Coastal exposure, tropical rainfall, local wind or cyclone criteria, freight, unloading and local installation should be defined before the programme is frozen.
Can CADARN be supplied for Middle East and GCC developments?
Yes. CADARN can be reviewed for suitable villa, residential, resort and hospitality projects across the Middle East and GCC. Heat, UV, dust, coastal exposure where relevant, drainage, electrical and control placement, local wind criteria, cleaning and maintenance all need project-specific review. Local installation, engineering and approvals remain with the appointed project team.
Is CADARN installation included?
No. CADARN is supplied on a wholesale and project supply-only basis. The purchaser independently arranges and manages all onsite assembly, foundations, lifting, electrical connection, drainage connections, contractors and related works. Apollo has no onsite role.
Is structural engineering included with CADARN?
No. CADARN is a modular kitset product. Product information and standard technical references can be supplied, but project-specific structural engineering, foundation design, consent documentation, shop drawings and building-interface design remain with the appointed project team where required.
Can developers order multiple identical CADARN units?
Yes. Repeat-unit programmes are one of the strongest CADARN applications. A developer, builder, resort or reseller can freeze a controlled family of sizes, colours, operating systems and enclosure options, then repeat those configurations across suitable sites subject to project-specific support, exposure and local-work checks.
What warranty does CADARN have?
CADARN has a lifetime manufacturing warranty, a 15-year powder-coat warranty pathway for qualifying standard-environment installations, and a 10-year coastal powder-coat warranty pathway for qualifying coastal installations. Coverage remains subject to the applicable written warranty terms, project specification, environment, installation, care and maintenance requirements.
Does CADARN have a coastal warranty?
Yes. Qualifying coastal CADARN installations have a 10-year coastal powder-coat warranty pathway. The correct coating specification, exposure classification, fixing grade, cleaning and maintenance requirements need to be confirmed for the project.
Does the lifetime manufacturing warranty cover every CADARN component for life?
No broad all-component lifetime claim is made. The lifetime warranty applies to the manufacturing-warranty pathway. CADARN motors and LED lighting have a 2-year warranty. Controls, sensors, screens, glass, seals, moving parts, finishes and other accessories may have separate warranty periods or conditions. The applicable written CADARN warranty schedule should be checked for the ordered configuration.
