CAIRNHUS · Mid-Century Homes

Mid-century architecture developed as a modern project-supplied home system.

CAIRNHUS is Apollo's design-led mid-century home direction: low, horizontal forms, generous glazing, deep overhangs and warm material palettes developed around a project brief, then reviewed for a suitable light-steel or prefabricated manufacturing pathway.

Quick project answers

Key project questions, answered before you request a proposal.

01

Is CAIRNHUS a stock prefab house?

No. CAIRNHUS is a design-led home direction. The architecture starts with the selected house concept and project requirements, while the manufacturing system is confirmed separately for the destination and final design.

02

Can the house design be customised?

Yes. Layout, glazing, roof form, exterior materials and internal planning can be developed around the project brief, subject to structural, manufacturing, transport and destination requirements.

03

Where can CAIRNHUS projects be reviewed?

Apollo can review suitable international projects. Wind, seismic, thermal, fire, corrosion, energy and approval requirements are assessed for the actual destination before a manufacturing pathway is confirmed.

04

Does Apollo build the house on site?

No. Apollo is supply-only. Foundations, erection, services, local engineering review, approvals and on-site construction responsibilities remain with the appointed project parties.

Specifier evidence checklist

Confirm the exact CAIRNHUS Mid-Century Homes project evidence before release.

Use this checklist to turn an early product choice into a project-ready brief. Only exact registered evidence should be relied on for specification, tender or order.

01

Application & use

Confirm: Intended users / buyers: residential. Confirm the actual application, operating intensity and project outcome.

Boundary: A product-category match is not a final suitability confirmation.

02

Site & environment

Confirm: Confirm the actual site, exposure, climate, drainage and destination conditions.

Boundary: Environmental performance claims must match the exact selected system and current evidence.

03

Configuration & dimensions

Confirm: Confirm configuration: project-configured, together with dimensions, quantities, interfaces and required options.

Boundary: Do not infer available sizes, spans, loads or options from representative imagery.

04

Materials, finishes & maintenance

Confirm: Review steel against finish, corrosion, cleaning, maintenance and replacement requirements.

Boundary: Material suitability can change with exposure, assemblies and maintenance conditions.

05

Technical evidence

Confirm: Request current configuration-specific technical information before specification, tender or order.

Boundary: CAD, shop drawings, structural calculations, certificates and testing are included only where they exist for the exact system and are expressly identified.

06

Drawings & submittals

Confirm: No controlled drawing record is currently centralised for this pathway. Request the exact drawing, fixing detail, shop-drawing scope or submittal information required for the project.

Boundary: A brochure, website diagram or representative image is not a fabrication, installation or engineering drawing.

07

Market & destination

Confirm: This product has an explicit Apollo market-priority record. Confirm destination-specific standards, climate, freight, documentation and local compliance separately.

Boundary: Market priority is not evidence of code compliance, certification, structural suitability or installation approval in that destination.

08

Tender & procurement wording

Confirm: State the exact product pathway, configuration, dimensions, material / finish, required evidence, supplied scope, exclusions, delivery point and local responsibilities in the project schedule.

Boundary: Do not turn representative website wording, unverified supplier claims or another configuration's test data into a project compliance clause.

09

Project interface & delivery

Confirm: Confirm destination, receiving point, unloading, local contractor, foundations / supports, services, installation responsibility and target programme.

Boundary: Freight, local works, engineering, commissioning and installation scope must be confirmed in the written quotation.

Apollo is supply-only unless the written project scope states otherwise. Local engineering, statutory approvals, site works and installation remain project-specific.

Project pathways

Build the brief around the type of project you actually need.

01

Signature low-line homes

Single-storey compositions with long rooflines, deep eaves, sheltered terraces and strong indoor-outdoor connection.

02

Courtyard homes

L-shaped and inward-looking plans that organise living spaces around a protected garden, terrace or pool court.

03

Compact homes

Smaller footprints that retain the CAIRNHUS architectural language without turning into generic cabin-style prefab.

04

Split-level + two-storey

Options for sloping sites or larger programmes where the mid-century language needs more vertical development.

05

International Building Systems Authority

Control destination, structure, envelope, drawings, evidence, logistics and local responsibilities before a manufacturing pathway is released.

Open Authority Centre

Project priorities

The visual direction is established. Final engineering and specification stay project-specific.

01

Architecture first

The public product is the CAIRNHUS design language, not a supplier's generic villa catalogue.

02

Manufacturing fit

The final structural and prefabrication method must suit the actual house geometry, shipping route and destination requirements.

03

Climate response

Solar control, ventilation, insulation, rain, wind and corrosion are resolved against the site rather than assumed from a render.

04

Local approvals

Planning, foundations, structural review, energy, fire and local building approvals remain destination-specific.

How Apollo fits

Apollo turns an architectural or operational brief into a qualified supply pathway.

Apollo is supply-only. Final structural design, foundations, erection, services, local engineering review, statutory approvals and compliance remain project- and destination-specific and are confirmed with the selected manufacturer and local project team.

01

Send the brief

Start with destination, intended use, approximate size, drawings or concept material, target programme and any known performance or local-code requirements.

02

Match the manufacturing route

Apollo reviews the brief against suitable structural, prefabricated and component supply pathways rather than forcing the project into a single catalogue model.

03

Develop the project package

The proposed manufacturer develops the applicable drawings, structural basis, material selections and scope information for project review.

04

Confirm supply + logistics

Apollo coordinates the agreed product supply and export pathway. Site works, installation and local approvals remain with the responsible project parties.
