Apollo roll-out sports flooring

Continuous pickleball and sports flooring for clubs, schools, events, court upgrades and custom venues.

Apollo’s roll-out range includes PM-S 3.5 PickleSand, PM-T 3.0 Acrylic Sand, PM-E custom-printed flooring, a 3.0 mm Pickle Stone training pathway and professional indoor sports rolls. These systems suit portable, semi-permanent and fixed projects where a continuous playing face is preferred over an open modular tile texture. A portable pickleball court is normally a removable multi-roll flooring system rather than one lightweight mat.

Technical overview

Five roll-out surface pathways

The right option depends on the sport, base condition, expected use, installation method and maintenance expectations.

01PM-S 3.5 PickleSand
3.5 mm · 2.0 × 18.3 m100% pure PVC pathway with scratch/UV-resistant surface, pure PVC wear layer, double fibreglass stabilisation, compression layer, high-density foam cushion and dot-pattern anti-slip backing.
02PM-S court packs
8 × 18.3 m or 10 × 18.3 mRepresentative layouts use four 2.0 m rolls for an 8 m-wide court area or five rolls for a 10 m-wide court area.
03PM-S colours
212-1 to 212-7 · 7 standard referencesCurrent palette: Light Blue, Dark Blue, Pink, Grey, Purple, Green and Red. Final production colour is confirmed against the selected system.
04PM-T 3.0 Acrylic Sand

05PM-T installation
Temporary tape pathway availableCurrent source material lists tape installation for temporary setups and roll weights up to approximately 125 kg; final fixing method is selected for the venue.
06PM-T court + warranty
30 × 60 ft standard-court pathwayCurrent product literature lists PM-T for indoor/outdoor pickleball and tennis and shows a two-year warranty for the documented configuration. Current warranty terms are reconfirmed with the project quotation.
07PM-T colours
CYP30–CYP41 · 12 current referencesLight blue, dark blue, grey, red, orange, yellow, green, navy, blue, purple, light grey and dark grey.
08PM-E Custom Design
2.0 / 3.0 mm · 1.8 m wide · custom lengthMatte custom-printed system with UV-cured stain-resistant surface, transparent PVC, printed pattern layer, wear-resistant PVC, fibreglass stabilisation, compression support and anti-slip bottom.
09PM-E common court packs
7.2 × 15 m or 9 × 18.3 mRepresentative layouts use four 1.8 m × 15 m rolls or five 1.8 m × 18.3 m rolls.
10Custom colour references
Pantone · RAL · CBCCProject-specific colour development can use Pantone, RAL and China Architectural Colour Card / CBCC references as matching targets, subject to production confirmation and project minimums.
11Pickle Stone training roll
3.0 mm · 1.8 m wide · custom lengthTraining / teaching pathway shown in 7.2 × 15 m and 9 × 18.3 m formats, with red, green, light blue, dark blue and grey colour options in the current source material.
12Professional indoor roll
Approx. 2.5 mmApprox. 1.83 m width with glass-fibre reinforcement and representative ball rebound above 97%.
13Installation formats
Portable · semi-permanent · fixedApproved sports-floor tape, adhesive or project-specific fixing is selected around venue and use.
14Substrate requirement
Smooth, clean, dry + stableRoll flooring follows the base closely; flatness, moisture, seam planning and drainage are critical.
15Portable court reality
Commonly 4 rolls · sometimes 5The full court is normally divided into several large roll sections for practical transport and handling. Exact count depends on the selected roll width and court layout.
16Typical roll handling
Approx. 1.8–2.0 m wide · up to ~120–125 kg eachThese are representative planning figures rather than universal specifications. Confirm exact roll size, weight and packed dimensions and plan two or more people or suitable trolleys, dollies, cradles or lifting equipment.
17Access + storage
Plan before orderingCheck unloading responsibility, door widths, corners, ramps, lifts, stairs, staging space and the route to dry roll storage. A court is only genuinely portable if there is a realistic handling and storage plan.

Roll-out flooring is continuous and does not drain through like open modular tile. Outdoor projects need deliberate base falls, perimeter/channel drainage, weather-suitable fixing and careful seam detailing. Product warranties, colour availability and final layer build-up are confirmed in the current Apollo quotation rather than assumed from older supplier literature.

Continuous court surface

The roll construction is part of the playing system.

The current PM-S, PM-T and PM-E pathways use different surface, reinforcement and backing constructions. Selection should be based on playing feel, installation format, indoor/outdoor exposure, base preparation and the exact project specification rather than thickness alone.

Pickleball applications

From dedicated courts to portable and custom-format venues.

The imagery focuses on the playing surface, court application and roll format so the different pathways are easier to compare.

Project fit

A continuous surface can suit projects where tiles are not the preferred finish.

PM-T: firmer response

The acrylic-sand PM-T pathway is aimed at a firmer, high-response, tournament-style playing character for pickleball and multi-sport.

PM-S: more cushioning

PM-S adds a more forgiving underfoot feel and controlled pickle-sand texture for clubs, training, halls and longer sessions.

PM-E: custom visual design

PM-E adds a printed pattern layer beneath the protective surface, allowing project-specific colours, patterns and branded court graphics while retaining a sports-flooring build-up.

Training / teaching formats

The 3.0 mm Pickle Stone pathway is available in compact 7.2 × 15 m and larger 9 × 18.3 m layouts for teaching, training and multi-use court programmes.

Installation sequence

The documented workflow is to prepare a smooth, clean base, unroll and position the flooring, tape the seams where appropriate, then use grooving, welding and seam flattening for installations that require welded joints.

Indoor + event use

Professional indoor roll and portable PM-T / PM-S layouts support halls, event courts and temporary conversions without permanent alteration.

Brandable courts

Custom-printed PVC can place club identity, sponsor zones or themed graphics beneath the protective playing layer while preserving line clarity.

Colour matching beyond the standard palette

Selected custom pathways can be developed against Pantone, RAL and CBCC / China Architectural Colour Card references. This gives clubs, schools and commercial venues a stronger route to coordinated brand or architectural colours, subject to final production matching.

Storage is part of the system

Portable rolls should be numbered, mapped, rolled on suitable cores and stored dry rather than folded.

Temporary vs semi-permanent

Temporary installation works well for events, demonstrations and occasional sessions, but repeated setup and pack-down is labour intensive. Regular programmes often benefit from leaving the court in place for weeks or months with a removable semi-permanent fixing strategy.

Check the route, not just the court

A roll that fits on a truck may still be difficult to move through narrow doors, corridors, lifts or tight corners. Access from delivery point to staging area, court and storage should be checked before the system is ordered.

Outdoor use needs confirmation

PM-T is listed for indoor/outdoor use; selected PM-S configurations may be outdoor-suitable, subject to exact build, fixing, UV/weather and warranty conditions.
