What matters when planning an opening louvre pergola

The configurator is intended to organise the project brief before Apollo reviews the final kitset. Dimensions are only one part of the decision: mounting format, exposure, drainage, controls, enclosure intent and the local supporting structure all affect the final pathway.

Size and mounting format

Freestanding, wall-mounted and roof-only applications place different demands on posts, fixings and the supporting structure. The current configurator identifies whether the entered footprint sits inside the standard size pathway or needs a made-to-measure review, but final structural suitability remains site-specific.

Exposure, drainage and local works

An opening louvre roof manages rain through its integrated gutter and internal drainage pathway, but the project still needs a practical discharge route. Open, coastal, snow or otherwise exposed sites should be identified early so wind, loading, foundations and fixings can be reviewed by the local project team.

Controls and side enclosure

AEGIS PRIME can be planned with manual or motorised louvre operation and Black, White or Grey frame pathways. If Velaris Outdoor Blind Systems, glass or louvre walls are intended, include them from the start because side enclosure changes how the outdoor room is used and can affect the structural and site review.

Common planning questions

Does the configurator provide structural approval?

No. It records the intended configuration. Wind, snow, foundations, fixings, supporting construction and statutory approvals remain project-specific and must be confirmed for the destination site.

Can side blinds be added to the planning brief?

Yes. The configurator can include Velaris Outdoor Blind Systems as enclosure intent so the side-protection requirement is visible when Apollo reviews the overall AEGIS PRIME project.
